Dear Ghislain and colleagues of the Ligo School.
I am grateful I had the possibility to do job shadowing at your school, at LIGO school. You gave me the opportunity to be a part of different areas of your work: the first day I came I was a part of Big project day, I participated in courses, talked to your learners and teachers, attended meetings and even a conference. I learned and saw a lot of new things, especially in the field of (digital) literacy. And along the way I felt accepted and welcomed all the time.
I wrote a blog for my organization about every day I spent at your school. And I will share with you a piece of the blog in which I described something I find very important. Your positive learning oriented energy. This energy you give to participants and to each other. And this energy encourages learning and gives joy.
I wrote in my blog:
»The activities I participated in today make me think about what makes a school, an adult education organization great, different. Are this educational programs? Learning aids and material conditions? Learning methods? All of the above is important, but certainly not the most important.
The most important are the people - teachers and employees. They form school culture with their heart, with their love for teaching and learning, with respect and acceptance of all people, with openness and the desire to support learners in realizing their potential. This is the energy that people feel and that makes them/us come back. It’s the energy with which we communicate to people that learning is necessary, but it’s also beautiful and fun. That’s something I feel at Ligo school. I see this on the faces of the teachers, one can feel it also by relaxed behaviour of the participants ...«
Thank you Ghislain for forming interesting and busy schedule and for being willing to share your days, knowledge and information from work with me.
Thank you Elian for the openness and for gioving me opportunity to present my organisation at the staff meeting.
Thank you Stefanie for presenting the Deli project and for being willing to spend your free time with me as well.
Thanks An, Lieselot, Susan and Elke.
The first day - Big project day - was unforgettable for me :)
I wish you all the best and that you sucessfully continue to carry out your mission to empower and support learners in realizing their potential.
